Poison on the Platter - A documentary film
Renowned filmmaker and social activist Mahesh Bhatt today launched a scathing attack on biotech multinational companies and their nexus with regulatory bodies for unleashing what he describes as ‘bio-terrorism’ in the country. Speaking at a function organized to launch his new film, ‘Poison on the Platter‘, directed by Ajay Kanchan, Bhatt said, “in their mad rush to capture the multi-billion dollar Indian agricultural and food industry, the biotech MNCs are bulldozing warnings by scientists about the adverse impact of GM foods on health and environment, and hurtling the mankind toward a disaster, which will be far more destructive than anything the world has seen so far, simply because it will affect every single person living on this planet”.http://www.poisonontheplatter.com/

Rachel Carson Council
Rachel Carson Council (RCC) is an award-winning nonprofit, science based organization that seeks to provide accurate information to the public and institutions. RCC researches the impact of pesticides on people and the environment, and the availability low-risk pest management alternatives. RCC fosters a sense of wonder and respect for nature in all of its work.
RCC pays close attention to the special relationship between people and their companion animals. RCC’s recent brochure “The Green Mantle Way: An Alert for Pet Owning Families” highlights the fact that pets can be more sensitive to many household items and chemicals than are people, and indicates that certain pesticides, fertilizers and foods can be hazardous to pets. Because of these sensitivities pet owners need to be particularly careful about the products they use around the home and on the lawn.
RCC is funded almost exclusively by contributions from individuals and its services are provided as much as possible at no cost to the general public.
