- Often the love and emotions we feel for our pets, for all animals and for the
beauty of theatural world around us may seem so powerful as to be beyond words. Everyday language
may seem ill-suited to describe such love, joy and devotion you feel for a loyal
companion, or
perhaps the anger and hurt you feel for an animal that has been abused or neglected.
In these moments, I find that poetry can often give expression to the seemingly
inexpressible.
Poetry is the essence of emotion, an act of love, a form of liberation, an exercise
of the
intellect, a creative art and a powerful social tool that can change the world for
the better.
So whether you are a lover of verse or a poetry skeptic, I invite you to read through
some of
the poems we have collected here. And if you feel so inspired, please share some
