Sorry to hear about the loss of your loved Bichon Frise. We too are facing loss of our beloved mixed-breed 10-year old dog. He was a rescue that we had neutered by 6 months to avoid the threat of future cancer, yet he was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. No symptoms appeared until he started having trouble with defecation and urination. Just don't understand how this can happen, we followed all the right advice of our vet since he was 8 weeks old, had him on a home-based diet with all the necessary nutrients needed to keep him healthy, got all the required vaccines, etc. Veterinary care is very expensive but wonder why the prostate gland isn't removed as well when male dogs are neutered. Surgery not an option and we're just keeping him comfortable. So heart-breaking!
